Can You Use the ProTee VX with Low Ceilings? Here’s What You Need to Know

While the recommended ceiling height for the ProTee VX is 10' (300cm) from floor to ceiling, we've conducted extensive tests at lower heights to help users with tighter indoor spaces.

Our findings show that 8'4" (254cm) is too low—not only does it pose a risk of missed shot detection, but there's also a small chance of striking the unit during upward wedge swings.

At 8'6" (259cm), the VX can function, though high-speed shots may require a premium ball like the TP5 to ensure accurate spin readings.

This ball provides additional visual markers for the system to detect.

Interestingly, 8'8" (264cm) performed significantly better, with no recorded issues or negative user feedback.

While it’s still below the ideal height, the VX appears to operate reliably at this level.

Users planning to set up at this height should still exercise caution when swinging high-lofted clubs.

Ultimately, anything below 8'6" is not recommended, but if you're working with an 8'8" ceiling, the ProTee VX remains a viable option.
